Private until the customer chooses to share
Every GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce list starts private. When a customer wants to share one, they can enable sharing from their own account and receive a secure public link for that specific collection-without making every wishlist or account detail public.
1. The sharing journey
Sharing is designed to be a clear, customer-controlled sequence from a private saved list to a link they can send to anyone they choose.
- A signed-in customer opens My Account → Wishlists.
- They choose the list they want to share.
- In the Share this wishlist area, they select Enable sharing.
- The plugin creates a secure share link for that list.
- The customer uses Copy link and sends it to the people they choose.
2. What a shared link does
Anyone who has the link can view the shared wishlist in the configured public wishlist page. The shared view stays focused on the products a customer chose to share, rather than exposing account-level management details.
3. Keep the link under control
Wishlist sharing is flexible because the customer remains in charge. If a link has been sent too widely or a list needs to become private again, the owner can act directly from the same account area.
- Use Regenerate link to create a new secure URL and invalidate the previous one.
- Use Disable sharing to remove public access entirely.
- Confirm the old URL shows that the wishlist is no longer available after regeneration or disabling.
- Check the shared page as a signed-out visitor to see the experience recipients receive.
- Keep the required Shared Wishlist Page configured so valid links have a proper public destination.
