Customer Wishlists

Wishlist limits and product limits

Give customers enough space to save meaningful ideas, while keeping every wishlist experience focused, fast, and easy to manage.

Limits that support real shopping behaviour

GoScript Advanced Wishlist for WooCommerce includes two simple controls: how many wishlists an account can create, and how many products each wishlist can contain. Together, they help you shape a customer-friendly experience that suits the scale and rhythm of your catalogue.

1. Configure the limits

Both settings live together in the Wishlist limits section, making it straightforward to balance customer flexibility with the experience you want to offer.

  1. Open Advanced Wishlist → Settings.
  2. Find Wishlist limits.
  3. Set Maximum wishlists per account.
  4. Set Maximum products per wishlist.
  5. Save your changes, then test the customer experience with a sample account.

2. Understand each limit

The controls apply to different parts of the customer journey. Use them together to create sensible boundaries without making wishlists feel restrictive.

Maximum wishlists per accountControls how many separate collections a customer can create, including their default My Wishlist.
Unlimited account listsSet the account-level value to 0 when you do not want to cap the number of wishlists a customer can create.
Maximum products per wishlistControls how many products fit in one collection, with a maximum supported value of 250 items per wishlist.
Clear customer guidanceWhen a relevant limit is reached, customers receive a clear notice so they understand the next available action.

3. Choose limits that still feel generous

The goal is not to make customers ration saved products-it is to create lists that stay useful. Start with the defaults, then adjust only when your catalogue, customer behaviour, or store policy gives you a reason to do so.

  • Use more account lists for stores where customers shop by occasion, recipient, project, or season.
  • Use a higher per-list product limit for broad catalogues where customers naturally compare more items.
  • Keep the default My Wishlist in mind when setting the account-level limit; it counts as one wishlist.
  • Test the limit notice with a sample customer so it is clear and unobtrusive.
  • Review customer questions and wishlist use over time, then refine the settings only if a better fit emerges.
