FAQ & Compatibility

Classic and block placement compatibility

Create a consistent save-to-wishlist experience across classic WooCommerce templates, block-based storefronts, product collections, and purpose-built custom layouts.

A wishlist that fits your storefront

GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce is built to work where customers naturally discover products: on individual product pages, throughout product grids, and in layouts you control yourself. Whether your store uses classic WooCommerce templates or a modern block theme, you can make saving a product feel like a natural next step.

Classic WooCommerce templates

On classic WooCommerce product templates, Advanced Wishlist can place its button using familiar product-page hooks. In Settings, choose whether the button should appear before Add to Cart, after Add to Cart, after the product summary, or only through custom/manual placement.

  • Before Add to Cart keeps wishlisting close to the primary purchase decision.
  • After Add to Cart offers a helpful alternative action without interrupting the purchasing flow.
  • After product summary gives a more spacious, lower-emphasis placement.
  • Custom/manual only leaves the exact position entirely in your hands.

For product grid listings, enable the loop button and choose the supported product-image position that best complements your card design.

Block themes and product blocks

In supported block storefront contexts, Advanced Wishlist integrates with WooCommerce product blocks so the save action can be placed alongside the product experience rather than feeling bolted on. Automatic placement supports the single-product and product-collection patterns used by modern block themes.

Single Product templateUse the GoScript Wishlist Button block in a product template when you want direct, visual control over its placement.
Product collectionsUse the GoScript Wishlist Loop Button in product collections to make saving visible while shoppers browse.
Wishlist counterAdd the Wishlist Counter block where a quick route back to saved products will be most useful.

When to use manual placement

Manual placement is ideal when your product template is highly customised, your page builder does not expose the expected WooCommerce hook, or you want the wishlist action in a distinctive position. It gives your team full layout control without giving up the account-connected wishlist experience.

  1. Open Advanced Wishlist → Settings and choose Custom/manual only for the placement you want to control.
  2. For a block-based layout, open the relevant template in the Site Editor and add the appropriate GoScript Wishlist block.
  3. For a classic template or a suitable page-builder element, add [goscript_wishlist_button].
  4. Optionally add [goscript_wishlist_counter] where signed-in customers should quickly reach their saved products.
  5. Preview the placement while signed in and signed out to confirm that the action and sign-in guidance look right in your design.

Shared wishlist pages use your site layout

Shared wishlists are rendered through the WordPress page you choose as the shared-list base. Keep the [goscript_shared_wishlist] shortcode on that page to let the public wishlist inherit your normal theme or page-builder styling, while the plugin handles the secure shared-list content.

Quick placement check

Before publishing a template change, test the key browsing and buying journeys that matter to your customers.

  • Open a simple product and a variable product on desktop and mobile.
  • Browse a representative product grid or product collection.
  • Save a product while signed in and verify that the expected wishlist action appears.
  • View the same page signed out and confirm that the configured login or registration guidance is clear.
  • Check the shared wishlist page against your normal site styling.

A consistent path from discovery to saving

With automatic controls, dedicated blocks, and shortcode support, GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce gives you the flexibility to meet customers where they browse-while preserving a consistent, polished path from product discovery to a saved future purchase.
