Setting up the Wishlist page

Two places, one connected wishlist experience

GoScript Advanced Wishlist for WooCommerce gives customers a private, account-linked place to manage their lists and a separate public-facing page for the lists they decide to share. Both are designed to use the normal WordPress and WooCommerce experience your store already has.

My Account → WishlistsThis is the customer’s private wishlist area, added as a WooCommerce My Account endpoint.

Shared Wishlist PageThis selected WordPress Page supplies the normal theme or page-builder layout around a secure public share link.

1. Confirm the customer wishlist area

The plugin adds a Wishlists item to the WooCommerce My Account menu. A signed-in shopper reaches it through My Account → Wishlists, where they can manage the default My Wishlist, create additional lists when allowed, and return to the products they care about.

1. Sign in with a test WooCommerce customer account.
2. Open your store’s My Account page and select Wishlists.
3. Save a product from the store if you have not already done so; this creates My Wishlist when it is first needed.
4. Confirm the saved list sits comfortably within your account page and uses your store’s existing customer flow.

2. Review the Shared Wishlist Page

Activation creates a published WordPress Page named Wishlist and adds the [goscript_shared_wishlist] shortcode. This Page is the intentional base context for public shared links; it is not a public directory of customer lists.

1. In WordPress, go to Pages and open the default Wishlist page.
2. Keep the [goscript_shared_wishlist] shortcode in the page content if you update its surrounding layout or copy.
3. Open Advanced Wishlist → Settings and find the Shared wishlist page section.
4. Confirm the intended published Page is selected. You can choose another Page when your store needs a different layout or page-builder context.

With the default settings, a shared list uses a route in the style of /wishlist/secure-share-token/. The token is long and non-guessable, while the selected Page keeps the shared experience within your normal WordPress design.

3. Adjust the shared route only when it serves your store

The default wishlist URL base is ready for most stores. If you prefer another public path, change Shared Wishlist URL Base in Settings. The plugin refreshes its rewrite rule when you save the new value, so current share links keep using the route you selected.
