How wishlist purchase attribution works

See how Advanced Wishlist connects active saved-product interest to qualifying paid-order outcomes-giving you a practical, store-local foundation for wishlist purchases, purchase rate, and attributed revenue.

A clear connection between interest and outcomes

GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce records a wishlist purchase when a signed-in customer buys a product that was actively saved in their wishlist when the order first qualifies as paid. This gives the reporting a useful, consistent connection between the customer intent you can see in wishlists and the product-level outcomes that follow.

1. When a purchase qualifies for attribution

Attribution is deliberately grounded in real WooCommerce order and account activity. The plugin checks the order and the customer’s active wishlist state when the order first becomes eligible for reporting.

Account-linked wishlist stateThe order belongs to a signed-in WooCommerce customer, and the purchased product is actively saved for that customer at qualification time.
Qualifying paid orderThe order reaches a WooCommerce paid status, creating the eligible paid-order outcome for the matching saved product.
Product-level matchingThe order’s purchased products are evaluated individually, so wishlist purchase and revenue reporting stays tied to the relevant product.
First qualifying pointThe active saved-product state is checked when the order first qualifies, giving the report a stable basis for attribution.

2. What attribution updates in the reports

Once a qualifying product purchase is connected to active wishlist interest, the attribution record supports several related Wishlist Intelligence measures.

  • Wishlist Purchases records the qualifying product purchase outcome.
  • Customers Converted records the associated customer conversion activity in the reporting totals.
  • Attributed Revenue records the product-only revenue contribution, after product refunds and without shipping or tax.
  • Wishlist Purchase Rate and Revenue per Wishlist Add use those outcomes alongside new Wishlist Adds to create useful performance ratios.

3. How to read attribution well

Wishlist attribution gives your store a meaningful view of the customer journey from saving to purchasing. It is most useful when you pair it with the demand signals that explain why the opportunity existed in the first place.

  1. Start with Current Wishlisters and Wishlist Adds to understand the active and fresh customer interest behind a product.
  2. Review Wishlist Purchases and Attributed Revenue to see qualifying outcomes from that saved interest.
  3. Use Purchase Rate and Revenue per Wishlist Add to add comparable context around new saves and the value that followed.
  4. Open the product-level and All Products reports to compare outcomes across individual products, collections, or tags.

4. Keep the attribution foundation useful

Because Advanced Wishlist is built around customer accounts and local WooCommerce data, its attribution model is designed to be a practical part of your store’s own reporting foundation. It gives you a more informed way to see which customer interest is creating purchase progress over time.

  • Wishlist purchase attribution is based on your own WooCommerce orders and account-linked wishlist activity.
  • It does not require a dedicated analytics cookie to connect wishlist activity with qualifying product purchases.
  • Use consistent date ranges and product scopes when comparing outcomes over time.
  • Pair it with the broader privacy and data tools when you need to understand account data, retention, or personal-data requests.
