A practical lifecycle for useful store data
GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce separates the live customer-wishlist experience from historical analytics. That gives your store durable current-demand insight while keeping older reporting facts on a defined, store-local retention window.
1. What remains available
The live wishlist experience depends on the products customers currently save. Advanced Wishlist preserves that current state so your customer area and active-demand reporting can continue to reflect genuine ongoing interest.
2. How historical analytics retention works
Wishlist Intelligence stores historical reporting as anonymous daily product summaries and a limited attribution-reconciliation record. The plugin automatically keeps the most recent 180 store-local calendar dates for these reporting facts.
- Daily product activity contributes to the reporting summaries used across Wishlist Intelligence.
- The current store-local date determines the active 180-day retention window.
- A scheduled daily cleanup removes expired daily summaries and expired attribution-reconciliation records.
- Cleanup runs in small batches and can schedule follow-up work, helping the store catch up without one long background task.
- Your reports stay focused on a meaningful recent period while current customer demand remains available independently.
3. What deactivation does-and does not-do
Deactivating the plugin is a reversible pause. It does not delete Advanced Wishlist data, so you can reactivate the plugin and continue from the customer lists, settings, and insight foundation your store has already built.
- Deactivation keeps plugin data in place by design.
- Account-linked wishlists, settings, and retained analytics data are not removed just because the plugin is deactivated.
- This makes it safer to troubleshoot, stage changes, or temporarily pause the plugin without sacrificing established customer wishlist data.
- Customer-specific erasure requests remain a separate WordPress privacy workflow.
4. Choose your uninstall behavior
By default, uninstalling Advanced Wishlist also preserves its data. If you want a full plugin-wide cleanup when the plugin is uninstalled, you can opt in before removing it.
- In WordPress, open Advanced Wishlist → Settings.
- Find the Data lifecycle section.
- Enable Remove all Smart Wishlist data when the plugin is uninstalled.
- Save your settings before uninstalling the plugin.
- When the plugin is later uninstalled, the setting removes its wishlist, reporting, and related plugin data and settings.
5. Use a clear data strategy
This lifecycle model gives your store a thoughtful balance: customers can keep returning to valuable saved products, you can use a meaningful recent reporting window, and you stay in control of removal choices.
- Use the retained reports to spot recent demand and purchase progress.
- Use current-demand metrics to prioritise products customers still actively want.
- Use WordPress export and erasure tools for individual customer privacy requests.
- Use the Data lifecycle setting only when you intentionally want to remove all plugin data on uninstall.
