Wishlist Intelligence

Wishlist Momentum explained

See whether fresh customer interest is building, holding steady, or easing-so you can recognise emerging product demand while there is still time to act on it.

A clear read on changing customer interest

Wishlist Momentum shows whether new wishlist interest is rising or falling compared with the preceding equivalent period. In GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce, it turns a raw count of fresh saves into a clearer signal of pace-helping you spot products and categories that are gaining attention.

1. How Momentum is calculated

Momentum compares Wishlist Adds in your selected period with the Wishlist Adds in the immediately preceding period of the same length.

Selected periodChoose Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Last 90 days to set the current period you want to understand.
Equivalent comparisonThe plugin compares it with the immediately preceding period of the same length for a meaningful like-for-like view.
Change in fresh interestThe result reflects whether customers created more or fewer new saves than in the comparison period.
New interest contextWhen there was no prior-period activity to compare, the report can identify the new interest rather than forcing a misleading percentage.

2. How to read the result

Momentum is a directional guide. Use it to decide where to look next, then pair it with active demand and purchase information before making a merchandising decision.

  • Positive Momentum means more new wishlist interest was created than in the preceding equivalent period.
  • Negative Momentum means fewer new saves were created than in the preceding equivalent period; it can be a useful prompt to review product availability, visibility, seasonality, or recent changes.
  • No change means new wishlist interest was level across the two periods.
  • New interest highlights activity where the comparison period had no Wishlist Adds, making newly emerging customer attention easy to notice.

3. Use Momentum to prioritise your next look

Momentum is especially powerful when you use it to narrow a large catalogue into a practical shortlist of products worth investigating.

  1. Choose a time period that matches your trading rhythm, such as Last 7 days for a weekly pulse or Last 30 days for a broader trend.
  2. Check Wishlist Momentum in the performance summary to understand whether fresh interest is moving up or down.
  3. Open Trending Wishlist Products to see the products with the strongest increase in Wishlist Adds.
  4. Compare those products with Current Wishlisters, purchases, availability, and merchandising priorities before deciding what to feature, promote, or replenish.

4. Make room for early demand signals

Sales history remains valuable, but new wishlist activity can help you recognise customer intent earlier in the journey. Use Momentum to keep product decisions connected to what shoppers are showing you now-not just what they completed in the past.

  • Spot newly popular products before their sales record has had time to catch up.
  • Give promising products a closer look in seasonal, campaign, and collection planning.
  • Pair rising Momentum with high Current Wishlisters to identify especially compelling demand signals.
  • Review the trend regularly so a short-lived spike and a sustained increase are easy to tell apart.
