Customer Wishlists

Moving and copying products between wishlists

Let customers keep every saved idea in the right place-without asking them to search for, configure, and save the same product all over again.

Organise without starting over

A saved product can belong to more than one customer plan. GoScript Advanced Wishlist for WooCommerce lets shoppers move an item when it has changed purpose, or copy it when it still belongs in both lists-giving them a more natural way to manage ideas as they evolve.

1. Move or copy an item

Customers use the organisation controls directly from a wishlist item. A second wishlist is required before an item can be moved or copied.

  1. Sign in and open My Account → Wishlists.
  2. Open the list that contains the saved product.
  3. Use Move or Copy beside the item.
  4. Choose the target wishlist from the available list selector.
  5. Confirm the action, then open the target list to review the result.

2. Choose move or copy with confidence

Both actions preserve the customer’s work; the difference is simply whether the original list should continue to include the product.

MoveTransfers the saved item to the selected list and removes it from the original list.
CopyKeeps the original item in place and creates the same saved selection in the target list.
Existing matchIf the exact selection is already in the target list, the plugin avoids creating an unnecessary duplicate.
List capacityIf a target list is full, the customer receives a clear notice instead of losing the source item.

3. Keep lists useful for real plans

Move and copy are most helpful when customers can use them freely and understand the result. A quick test confirms the organisational tools feel as polished as the initial save action.

  • Create at least two named wishlists with a test customer account.
  • Save a variable product and add a private note or priority marker.
  • Copy the item to a second list and confirm the original remains available.
  • Move the item to another list and confirm it no longer appears in the original.
  • Check that the selected variation and item-level details remain recognisable in the target list.

Continue with the small item-level tools that help customers remember why a product mattered in the first place.
