Troubleshooting

License or trial issues

Use the License screen as your single recovery point for activation, verification, replacement keys, trials, and explicit deactivation-so your wishlist experience stays ready when your store needs it.

Start on the License screen

GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce keeps its license status and recovery actions in one place. Open Advanced Wishlist → License to see the current license type, plugin functionality state, and expiry information where available.

1. Activate or replace a license key

Use the License screen to activate a new installation or replace the current entitlement with another valid key.

  1. Open Advanced Wishlist → License in WordPress.
  2. Copy the license key from your GoScript account or purchase email.
  3. Paste it into the License key or New license key field.
  4. Select Activate license or Activate new license.
  5. Confirm that the page reports an active state and that Plugin functionality is enabled.

2. When verification is temporarily unavailable

A temporary connection problem with the licensing service does not automatically erase a valid saved license state. The License screen keeps the current state in use and schedules another verification attempt.

Saved status remains in useA temporary verification failure uses the stored license state while the plugin prepares to try again.
Automatic retryBackground verification retries are scheduled with a bounded delay after a temporary service failure.
Manual retryUse Retry verification on the License screen when you want to check again after confirming your store can reach the licensing service.
Clear status feedbackThe screen reports when verification is retrying, helping you distinguish a temporary check from an expired or revoked entitlement.

3. Understand trial and paid-expiry states

Trial and paid licenses are handled differently so you always know what to expect from your current installation.

  • An active trial keeps Advanced Wishlist and Wishlist Intelligence available until the trial expiry time.
  • When a trial expires, wishlist functionality is disabled until you activate a valid paid license.
  • An expired paid license remains enabled on the already activated site.
  • With an expired paid license, access to new downloads, future versions, and support ends until the license is renewed.
  • A revoked license disables wishlist functionality until a valid license is activated.

4. When activation does not complete

If the License screen reports that activation could not be completed, work through the simple checks below before trying again.

  • Confirm that you copied the complete key from the GoScript account or purchase email, without added spaces.
  • Confirm that your WordPress site can make outbound HTTPS connections to the GoScript licensing service.
  • Check whether the key is intended for GoScript Advanced Wishlist rather than another GoScript product.
  • Use Activate new license when replacing a previously activated key.
  • If the problem continues, contact GoScript support with the visible License-screen status and your site URL-never post your full key publicly.

5. Deactivate a license only when you mean to release it

The explicit Deactivate license action releases the current license installation and disables wishlist functionality until another valid license is activated. It is useful when you are intentionally moving the activation to another site.

  1. Open Advanced Wishlist → License.
  2. Confirm that you are working on the installation you intend to release.
  3. Select Deactivate license.
  4. Wait for the success confirmation before using the license elsewhere.
  5. Activate a valid key again when you want to restore functionality on this site.

Recover with confidence

Whether you are starting a trial, moving an activation, replacing a key, or renewing a paid license, the License screen gives you a clear path back to an enabled Advanced Wishlist and a useful customer wishlist experience.
