Login requirement settings

Turn a signed-out save attempt into a clear, welcoming next step-so shoppers understand how to create a wishlist that stays with them.

Wishlists are account-linked by design

GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce keeps saved products connected to a real WooCommerce customer account. That gives shoppers a reliable place to return to, lets them organise multiple lists, and supports the deeper Wishlist Intelligence that helps you understand genuine customer demand.

1. What a signed-out visitor sees

When a signed-out visitor selects a wishlist button, the plugin presents a focused dialog with your chosen message and account actions. It explains the next step without taking them away from the product page first.

HeadingSet the concise title shown at the top of the sign-in dialog.
MessageUse supportive copy that explains why signing in helps the shopper save products.
Login actionChoose the page that should receive returning customers and label the login button clearly.
Registration actionOptionally choose a registration page so new shoppers can create an account and start saving.

2. Configure the dialog

Use the Login requirement section to connect the dialog to your store’s established account journey.

  1. In WordPress, open GoScript Advanced Wishlist → Settings.
  2. Find Login requirement.
  3. Set the Heading and Message shoppers should see.
  4. Set the Login button label and select your Login page.
  5. Set the Registration button label and select your Registration page if you offer one.
  6. Select Save changes.

3. Write guidance that helps

The strongest dialog copy is clear about the benefit: signing in means a shopper can keep favourites connected to their account and return to them later.

  • Use a direct heading such as Sign in to use your wishlist.
  • Explain that an account keeps saved products available whenever the customer returns.
  • Use short, recognisable actions such as Log in and Create account.
  • Send both actions to pages that are already working well in your WooCommerce account flow.
  • Keep the message consistent with your store’s tone so it feels like helpful guidance, not a dead end.

4. Test the visitor flow

One quick test confirms that a shopper sees a clear path from product interest to an account-backed saved list.

  1. Open a product page in a private browser window or while signed out.
  2. Select the wishlist button.
  3. Confirm the heading, message, and button labels match your settings.
  4. Test the login action and, if configured, the registration action.
  5. Sign in, return to a product, and save it to confirm the account-linked wishlist journey works smoothly.

Pair thoughtful account guidance with the product save controls and customer wishlist experience that make signing in feel worthwhile.
