Sharing Wishlists

Regenerating or disabling a share link

Keep every shared wishlist firmly in the customer’s hands-replace a link instantly or make a list private again whenever plans change.

Sharing that stays flexible

A shared wishlist should be easy to send and just as easy to bring back under wraps. GoScript Advanced Wishlist WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce gives the list owner direct controls in My Account, so a public link never has to outlive its purpose.

Regenerating is the right choice when the wishlist should remain shared but the current URL should no longer work-for example, after it has been shared more widely than intended.

  1. Sign in and open My Account → Wishlists.
  2. Select the shared wishlist you want to update.
  3. In Share this wishlist, select Regenerate link.
  4. Copy the newly displayed URL.
  5. Send the new link to the people who should keep access.

2. Disable sharing

Disable sharing when the list is no longer meant to be public. This removes public access while preserving the customer’s wishlist inside their signed-in account.

Open the list controlsChoose the shared wishlist in My Account → Wishlists and find its Share this wishlist area.
Select Disable sharingConfirm the action when prompted to remove the list’s public access.
Keep the wishlist itselfThe owner can still return to the list, add products, organise items, and share it again later.
Confirm the public resultOpening the old URL should show that the wishlist is no longer available.

3. Choose the right control

Both choices protect the owner’s control, but they suit different situations.

  • Regenerate link when the list should stay publicly shareable but you want a fresh URL.
  • Disable sharing when the list should return to private, signed-in use only.
  • Use the newest displayed link after regeneration; earlier links cannot be restored.
  • Re-enable sharing later if the customer decides the list is ready to share again.
  • Keep your Shared Wishlist Page configured so active links always have a polished storefront destination.
