Getting Started

Requirements and WooCommerce Analytics

Set up the platform and WooCommerce data foundation that lets Smart Cart Recommendations turn real purchase patterns into more relevant Cart discovery.

Build on a reliable Cart foundation

Before you configure the GoScript Smart Cart Recommendations WordPress plugin, confirm that your store is running WordPress 6.5 or later, PHP 7.4 or later, WooCommerce 8.2 or later, and an active WooCommerce installation.

WooCommerce Analytics powers smart history-based suggestions

Global smart recommendations use WooCommerce Analytics order lookup data to find products customers have bought together. The plugin needs WooCommerce Analytics to be enabled and the wc_order_product_lookup and wc_order_stats tables to be available.

  1. Open Smart Cart Recommendations → Settings.
  2. Review the WooCommerce Analytics status shown by the plugin.
  3. Confirm the required order lookup/reporting tables are available.
  4. Resolve Analytics or lookup-table warnings before expecting global history-based recommendations or their preview.

Supported Cart locations

The recommendation section is designed for the main WooCommerce Cart. You can position it above or below the Cart in supported classic Cart and Cart Block contexts, then choose the title, product count, display options, and scoped styling controls that suit your store.

The plugin does not place recommendations in the mini-cart, cart drawer, checkout, product pages, or after-purchase screens. Keeping the feature focused on the main Cart helps the experience remain clear and intentional before checkout.

Make the most of your existing order history

Global smart recommendations become increasingly useful when your store has qualifying recent orders containing more than one product. The available co-purchase evidence depends on your history window, selected order statuses, minimum shared-order threshold, and the state of WooCommerce Analytics data for existing orders.

HPOS-compatible order-data approach

Smart Cart Recommendations declares compatibility with WooCommerce custom order tables (HPOS). Its historical co-purchase logic relies on WooCommerce Analytics lookup tables rather than legacy order post/meta queries, keeping the recommendation foundation aligned with WooCommerce’s modern reporting architecture.

When the data requirement is not ready

If the Analytics status or required lookup tables are unavailable, resolve the WooCommerce data issue before troubleshooting recommendation rules. Smart Cart Recommendations shows the dependency status in Settings to give you a clear starting point.

  • Use the plugin’s Settings screen to identify Analytics and lookup-table availability.
  • Review WooCommerce’s own Analytics and data-management tools for store-specific synchronisation or import work.
  • Return to Smart Cart Recommendations after the underlying data is available, then review your history, threshold, and fallback settings.

Next steps

Once your store meets the requirements, configure and test your first Cart recommendation experience.
