See a product’s recommendation strategy before it reaches the Cart
The GoScript Smart Cart Recommendations WordPress plugin includes a recommendation preview in the product data tab. It reflects the current saved settings for that product, helping you review the recommendation source and suitable candidate products without needing to start every check from the storefront.
Use the preview as a fast, confident checkpoint while you shape global smart recommendations, curate a manual list, or decide whether that product should suppress Cart recommendations altogether.
Open the product-level preview
- Open the product you want to review in WooCommerce.
- Find the Smart Cart Recommendations area in the Product data settings.
- Save any changes to the recommendation mode, manual list, or suppression setting.
- Review the recommendation preview shown for the product’s current saved configuration.
Saving is important: the preview is based on the product settings currently stored in WooCommerce, not unsaved changes in the editor.
Preview global smart recommendations
When a product uses the global recommendation source, the preview can surface suitable candidates based on the store’s qualifying WooCommerce Analytics purchase history and your active global settings. This gives you a practical view of the recommendation foundation before you test a full Cart combination.

When a product uses manual recommendations, the preview helps you review the direct product list you have selected. It is especially useful for launch products, strategic pairings, and catalogue areas where your team wants clear merchandising control.
Your manual choices still pass through the plugin’s final availability and exclusion checks before they are displayed in the live Cart. The preview makes the intended selection easy to inspect while those live safeguards protect the customer experience.
Use the preview as a focused check, then test a real Cart
A product-level preview is deliberately focused on one product. The live Cart can combine evidence from multiple eligible Cart products, respect the minimum Cart subtotal, apply the selected placement, and remove products already in the Cart.
Turn preview feedback into stronger product-level choices
If the preview is not showing the relationship you expected, review the saved source mode, manual list, order-history rules, category or tag matching, exclusions, and product availability. A small, purposeful setting adjustment can make the Cart strategy better aligned with your catalogue.
