Settings & Controls

Product count, columns, and display options

Set the right amount of discovery for your Cart: how many products to show, how they arrange on larger screens, and which details help shoppers decide what to add next.

Design the amount of discovery your Cart needs

The GoScript Smart Cart Recommendations WordPress plugin gives you focused content controls for the recommendation section: the number of products it can show, the number of columns on desktop, and whether shoppers see product images, prices, and Add to Cart links.

These settings help you make the Cart section feel useful and easy to scan without crowding the route to checkout.

Choose the product count

Set the number of recommendation spaces you want the section to make available. A smaller count can keep the Cart focused and curated, while a larger count can offer more discovery when your product relationships and catalogue support it.

  • Start with a count that fits naturally beside your Cart totals and checkout actions.
  • Use a concise count when shoppers usually need one clear complementary suggestion.
  • Use more spaces when your products have several natural add-ons or complementary categories.
  • Test the finished Cart at common screen sizes before increasing the count.

Set the desktop grid columns

Use the desktop columns setting to decide how the recommendation cards arrange on wider Cart layouts. Choose a column count that gives each product enough room for the details you enable while keeping the section visually balanced with the rest of your page.

Wider product cardsFewer columns can give images, titles, prices, and Add to Cart links more breathing room.
More products in viewMore columns can make a broader selection easy to scan when your Cart layout has the available width.

The responsive grid adapts as screens become smaller: configured desktop columns reduce to two columns on smaller screens and one column on narrow mobile screens.

Choose the product details shoppers see

Smart Cart Recommendations lets you independently show or hide three core product-card details:

Product imagesGive shoppers a quick visual cue when they scan the Cart section.
PricesHelp shoppers understand the value of a potential add-on before they click through.
Add to Cart linksGive shoppers a direct path to add a recommendation when they are ready.

Choose the information that supports your product type and Cart journey. For example, visual catalogue products may benefit from images, while a direct-add workflow may benefit from keeping the Add to Cart link visible.

Balance clarity with checkout focus

Product count, columns, and visible details work together. A larger count with images, prices, and direct add links may need fewer desktop columns; a more compact text-led presentation can support a broader product grid. Review the Cart section as one complete experience rather than tuning each control in isolation.

Test on the screens your shoppers use

Save the display settings, then test representative Carts on desktop and narrow mobile layouts. Check that titles remain easy to scan, enabled details have enough room, and the recommendation section remains visually clear before the checkout path.
