Start with the License page

After the GoScript Smart Cart Recommendations WordPress plugin is installed, open Smart Cart Recommendations → License from your WordPress dashboard. This is the central place to activate a trial or paid license, view the current state, retry verification, replace a license, and release an activation when needed.

1. Activate a trial or paid license

1. Open Smart Cart Recommendations → License.
2. Enter your license key in the activation field.
3. Select Activate License.
4. Wait for the License page to confirm your new status and available runtime.

Once activation succeeds, Smart Cart Recommendations enables its normal plugin administration and commercial Cart runtime. You can then configure placement, product suggestions, fallbacks, exclusions, and reporting from the plugin’s own menu.

2. Confirm your active state

The License page shows your license type, status, runtime state, and expiry information. A paid active license or active trial makes the normal Cart recommendation features and plugin admin pages available.

Replace a license or retry verification

Use the same License page when you need to switch to a different valid license key. Enter the new key and follow the replacement activation flow. If the plugin asks you to retry verification, use the available Retry verification action before changing settings or reinstalling the plugin.

Smart Cart Recommendations uses an installation-specific, signed local license state and scheduled revalidation. That gives the plugin a clear, manageable way to communicate its current access state inside WordPress.

Release an activation deliberately

When you need to move an activation to another site, use the explicit Deactivate License action on the License page. A successful deactivation requests release from the licensing service and clears the local license state.

Know what the main license states mean

An active trial or paid license enables the normal storefront runtime and plugin administration. When a trial expires, commercial runtime pauses and only the License page remains available until a valid license is activated; your settings, recommendation data, statistics, and attribution data stay stored. When a paid license expires, an already activated installation continues to run while wp-admin shows the renewal status.

With no valid license or a revoked license, commercial runtime is disabled and the License page remains available to help you recover access.
