Cart Block recommendations are not displaying correctly

Start with the supported main Cart experience

The GoScript Smart Cart Recommendations WordPress plugin supports both classic WooCommerce Cart templates and the WooCommerce Cart Block. The recommendation section is designed for the main Cart page, where it can appear above or below the Cart according to your saved placement setting.

It does not add recommendations to the mini-cart, cart drawer, checkout, product pages, or after-purchase screens. Confirming the shopper surface first makes the rest of the troubleshooting process quick and focused.

1. Confirm you are testing the main Cart Block

Open the Cart page your customers use and confirm it is the page rendered by WooCommerce’s Cart Block-not a theme drawer, mini-cart, custom checkout summary, or another Cart-like component. Smart Cart Recommendations targets the main Cart placement supported by WooCommerce.

2. Recheck the Cart display controls

1. Open Smart Cart Recommendations → Settings.
2. Confirm the recommendation section is enabled and the intended Cart placement is selected.
3. Check the minimum Cart subtotal and build a Cart that meets the configured value.
4. Save Settings, then refresh the main Cart Block page.

Also confirm the Cart does not contain a product with product-level recommendation suppression enabled. A suppressed product hides the recommendation section for the whole Cart while it is present.

3. Confirm the Cart has a suitable candidate path

The Cart Block can only show a section when the current Cart supports a useful result. Review global history-based candidates, product-level manual lists, your selected fallback, and the final eligibility checks for the products you expect to see.

For global smart recommendations, WooCommerce Analytics and the required lookup tables must be ready. For manual selections, verify the relevant Cart product has a saved manual list. In every case, products already in the Cart, duplicates, hidden or unavailable products, and global exclusions are removed before display.

4. Review the live Block with your current theme and WooCommerce version

Cart Block support is implemented by the plugin, but the final storefront presentation still runs in your active theme and WooCommerce environment. Review the main Cart as a shopper would: confirm the section appears in the right position, product cards remain readable, and the enabled image, price, and Add to Cart controls fit naturally into the page.

5. Refresh after a meaningful strategy change

Recommendation output is cached by the normalised Cart products, relevant context, settings signature, and cache version. Saving Settings advances the cache version, and the dedicated cache-clear action lets you request a fresh result without making another setting change.

After you change a Cart control or product-level setting, clear or advance the cache, refresh the same main Cart Block context, and review the latest result.

6. Compare with a focused Cart test

Use one Cart containing a product with known co-purchase history or a saved manual recommendation list. Confirm the section on the Cart Block, then test the same product in the classic Cart experience only if your store also uses that template.

This gives you a clean comparison without treating unrelated Cart-like surfaces as a Block display issue.

Make the Cart Block a useful discovery moment

Once the main Cart Block is showing the section in the right place, the rest of the plugin controls work together to keep it useful: placement, title, product count, display options, order-history logic, manual pairings, fallbacks, exclusions, and local reporting.
