Cart placement and section title

Put product discovery where it feels natural in the Cart, then introduce it with a title that matches the way your store speaks to shoppers before checkout.

Make the Cart recommendation section feel intentional

The GoScript Smart Cart Recommendations WordPress plugin adds one independent recommendation section to the main WooCommerce Cart. You can enable or disable it, choose whether it appears above or below the Cart, and set the title shoppers see before the suggested products.

These simple controls let you place discovery at the point that best supports your checkout flow-without editing Cart templates or adding a shortcode.

Choose above or below the main Cart

In Smart Cart Recommendations → Settings, choose the section position that suits the rhythm of your Cart page:

Above the CartPut product discovery earlier in the Cart journey, before shoppers focus on their line items and totals.
Below the CartLet shoppers review their selected products first, then offer relevant additions as a considered next step.

Neither position is universally better. Test both with your current Cart layout and choose the one that feels clear, useful, and unobtrusive for your customers.

Set a title shoppers immediately understand

The default title is You may also like, but you can replace it with wording that fits your brand and the role recommendations play in the Cart. Keep the title direct and useful, so shoppers know they are seeing products that may complement what they have already chosen.

  • Use a short title that is easy to scan above the product cards.
  • Keep the language aligned with your store’s existing product and Cart tone.
  • Make the title feel like an invitation to discover, not a distraction from checkout.
  • Review it on desktop and narrow mobile layouts alongside your selected product count.

Built for the main Cart context

Smart Cart Recommendations supports placement in both classic WooCommerce Cart templates and the WooCommerce Cart Block. The section is deliberately focused on the main Cart page, where shoppers have the context to consider complementary products before checkout.

It does not add recommendations to the mini-cart, cart drawer, checkout, product pages, or after-purchase screens. Keeping the placement focused makes it easier to create one dependable Cart experience.

Placement works alongside your display conditions

The selected position and title define where the section can appear, while the rest of your settings determine whether it should appear for a particular Cart. Recommendations can be hidden when the feature is disabled, the Cart is empty, a minimum subtotal is not met, no candidates qualify, or a product in the Cart is set to suppress the section.

That separation lets you design a consistent Cart position once, then use rules to decide when the opportunity is genuinely useful.

Review the finished Cart, then refine

Save your placement and title settings, then add representative products to a test Cart. Review the page at the screen sizes your customers use most and make sure the section feels naturally placed beside your Cart totals and checkout path. Saving Settings clears the recommendation cache, so you can test each meaningful placement change right away.
