Licensing, compatibility, and supported Cart locations

Confirm the access state, WooCommerce foundation, and Cart surface that let Smart Cart Recommendations fit cleanly into your store.

A clear foundation for a confident Cart recommendation rollout

The GoScript Smart Cart Recommendations WordPress plugin is designed for WooCommerce stores that want to turn the main Cart into a more useful product-discovery moment. A valid license state, a supported WordPress and WooCommerce environment, and the right Cart surface give the plugin the foundation it needs to run as intended.

Use this guide as a quick reference before launch, during a compatibility review, or whenever you are moving the store to a new environment.

License states and runtime access

An active paid license or active trial enables the normal plugin administration and Cart recommendation runtime. With no license, an expired trial, or a revoked license, the License page remains available while the storefront runtime and feature pages are not registered.

Paid or trial activeConfigure Cart recommendations, product-level controls, tracking, and reports from WordPress.
Paid license expiredAn already activated site continues to run, while new downloads and new activations wait for renewal.

Plugin settings and stored reporting data are preserved when access changes. Use the License page to activate, retry verification, replace a key, or explicitly deactivate an installation when needed.

Core technical requirements

For the intended plugin experience, use WordPress 6.5 or later, PHP 7.4 or later, WooCommerce 8.2 or later, and an active WooCommerce installation.

Global history-based recommendations also depend on WooCommerce Analytics and the wc_order_product_lookup and wc_order_stats lookup tables. These provide the qualifying order and product data behind automatic co-purchase logic.

WooCommerce compatibility and HPOS

The plugin declares compatibility with WooCommerce’s custom order tables feature (HPOS). It also supports both classic WooCommerce Cart hooks and the WooCommerce Cart Block rendering filters.

Supported Cart locations

Smart Cart Recommendations is intentionally focused on the main WooCommerce Cart page. You can place the recommendation section above or below the Cart and control its title, minimum subtotal, content, and scoped styling.

The plugin does not place recommendations in the mini-cart, cart drawer, checkout, product pages, or after-purchase screens. Keeping the experience centred on the main Cart lets the recommendation logic respond to a clear, high-intent product combination.

Classic Cart and Cart Block support

The main Cart placement supports both classic WooCommerce Cart templates and the WooCommerce Cart Block. Review the version your store uses in the actual active theme so you can confirm placement, card readability, and the enabled product details all fit naturally into the shopper journey.

A Cart Block or theme-specific issue is best tested in that exact live-like configuration, rather than in a mini-cart or another unsupported Cart-like surface.

Use a quick pre-launch check

  1. Confirm the License page shows the runtime state you expect.
  2. Verify WordPress, PHP, WooCommerce, and WooCommerce Analytics meet the plugin requirements.
  3. Open the main Cart page in the active theme and confirm whether it uses the classic Cart or the Cart Block.
  4. Build a representative Cart and review the section above or below the Cart with your saved settings.

This focused check helps you launch from a reliable foundation and makes any compatibility question easier to isolate.

Keep Cart recommendations focused where they can help most

The GoScript Smart Cart Recommendations WordPress plugin stays deliberately focused on the main Cart, where shoppers have already shown clear buying intent. With a compatible store foundation and a thoughtful Cart setup, you can use your own purchase patterns to make that moment more helpful and discoverable.
