Make every recommendation journey more useful
The Tracking & Attribution settings connect the recommendations shoppers see with the local Reports insight you can use to understand them. Enable Track recommendation interactions to let Smart Related Products record validated recommendation-driven visits and build the foundation for clicks, attributed orders, conversion rate, and attributed net revenue.
Turn on Track recommendation interactions
With interaction tracking enabled, Smart Related Products records a click only after validating that a shopper reached a target product from a valid same-site source product where that target was part of the current displayed recommendation set. This keeps your Reports focused on the recommendations the plugin can confidently connect to real customer activity.
Tracking also relies on WooCommerce Analytics and its required lookup data being available. It does not rely on theme-specific product-card selectors, tracking parameters, or an analytics cookie.
Choose an Attribution window that fits your buying cycle
The Attribution window sets how long a valid recommendation-driven click remains eligible to credit a later purchase of the same target product. When an order first reaches Processing or Completed, Smart Related Products looks for the latest valid, unexpired click for that pseudonymous visitor and target product.
Choose a window that reflects the time customers typically need to consider and return to the products in your store. This gives you a practical way to keep reporting connected to the recommendation journeys that matter most to your catalogue.
Use Click cooldown to keep clicks meaningful
The Click cooldown sets the number of seconds before another click can be recorded for the same visitor and source-to-target recommendation relationship. It helps the report emphasize useful customer journeys rather than repeated immediate activity.
- Choose a cooldown that fits the browsing pace and product-consideration cycle in your store.
- Review clicks together with attributed orders to understand both engagement and the outcomes that followed.
- Adjust the setting when your reporting strategy or customer journey changes.
Turn tracked activity into action
Once tracking is enabled and recommendation journeys begin, use Reports to explore the source-to-target product relationships earning clicks, attributed orders, conversion rate, and attributed net revenue. The Dashboard widget adds a quick fixed 30-day snapshot when you want to keep the signal close to your everyday WordPress workflow.
