Troubleshooting

Recommendations look outdated

Refresh saved Smart Related Products results with confidence after a meaningful change, so your storefront keeps the speed of caching and the relevance of your latest strategy.

Caching keeps recommendations fast

Smart Related Products calculates recommendation candidates on demand and stores the result for the cache duration you choose. Reusing that work helps the storefront stay responsive while your customers continue to see the native WooCommerce Related products experience.

Know when a fresh result will help

Refresh saved results after a change that should affect which product relationships a shopper sees. This is especially useful after updating recommendation rules, global exclusions, fallback behavior, or a product-level mode.

Strategy changesRefresh after changing history, matching, threshold, fallback, or exclusion controls.
Product-level choicesRefresh after setting a different mode or manual selection for an important product.

Refresh results in a few clear steps

Use the clear-cache action when you want a new calculation right away instead of waiting for the selected cache duration to end.

  1. Save the recommendation, exclusion, fallback, or product-level change you want to apply.
  2. Open Smart Related Products → Settings → Cache & Refresh.
  3. Clear the saved recommendation results.
  4. View the relevant source product again; the next request calculates a fresh result using the current strategy.

Keep results ready for shoppers

A cached relationship is still checked when recommendations are output. If a candidate is no longer visible, purchasable, in stock, or otherwise eligible, Smart Related Products keeps it out of the final result-helping the native Related products area stay aligned with the live catalogue.

  • Clear the cache after a strategic recommendation change.
  • Rely on final eligibility checks for individual catalogue changes such as availability.
  • Choose a cache duration that matches how often your strategy and catalogue patterns change.
