Before you configure
Complete installation and activate a valid trial or paid license first. Smart Related Products uses qualifying recent WooCommerce orders to find co-purchase relationships, so your starting settings should reflect the order history your store actually has.
1. Put your purchase data to work
Open Smart Related Products → Settings and review the WooCommerce Analytics status. Smart recommendations require WooCommerce Analytics and the wc_order_product_lookup and wc_order_stats tables.
- Confirm that WooCommerce Analytics is available.
- Check that the required order lookup tables are available.
- Use the Requirements and WooCommerce Analytics guide if the status is not ready.
2. Choose a practical starting rule set
In Settings, choose the history period, qualifying order statuses, number of products to show, and minimum shared-order threshold. These settings decide which recent purchases can inform a relationship and how selective the result should be.
3. Review fallbacks and exclusions
Fallbacks help you handle products with limited co-purchase data. You can show nothing, retain WooCommerce’s default related products, or use relevant best sellers or newest products. Apply exclusions for products, categories, or tags that should not be suggested.
4. Verify the storefront result
Visit an eligible single-product page with meaningful recent multi-product order history. Smart Related Products changes the recommendation IDs, while WooCommerce and the active theme continue to render the normal Related products section and product cards.
- Confirm the Related products section is present in your active theme’s single-product template.
- Check that the displayed products fit your selected rules and are available to purchase.
- Open a product editor when you need to use a different mode, disable related products, retain WooCommerce defaults, or choose products manually.
