Eligibility comes after ranking
Shared-order history helps the plugin rank potential related products, but a candidate is only returned if it passes the current storefront and merchant-rule checks. This keeps an old historical relationship from surfacing an unsuitable product today.
Products removed automatically
The plugin excludes candidates that are not currently suitable for purchase or display.
Merchant rules also apply
Global exclusions can remove individual products, product categories, or product tags. If you use an optional category or tag matching rule, candidates outside that selected context are also removed before the final result is returned.
- Rank candidates from qualifying shared-order history.
- Apply availability, visibility, stock, and purchasability checks.
- Apply your exclusions and optional category or tag rule.
- Use the selected fallback if there are not enough eligible products.
Cached results are checked again
Recommendations are calculated on demand and cached, but eligibility is checked again when outputting the result. A product that becomes unavailable after a cached result was created is not shown just because it was previously eligible.
