Trial and paid-license behavior

Understand how Smart Related Products behaves through an active trial, a paid license, expiry, and verification-so you can keep your recommendation setup moving forward with confidence.

A clear path from trial to active store tool

Smart Related Products includes its own License page for activation, replacement, verification, and explicit deactivation. An active trial or active paid license makes the normal commercial runtime and plugin administration available, giving you a straightforward way to build, tune, and measure your recommendation setup.

What happens during and after a trial?

During an active trial, Smart Related Products keeps the normal runtime and admin features available. The plugin shows a persistent trial banner with trusted remaining days and a remaining-time progress bar, so the next step is always visible while you evaluate the product in your store.

When a trial expires, the storefront/runtime features pause and the plugin menu is restricted to the License page until a valid paid license is activated. Your settings, reports, and stored data remain in place, so you can return to the work you have already done without reinstalling or rebuilding your setup.

What happens when a paid license expires?

An already activated site continues to run Smart Related Products after a paid license expires. The plugin keeps working on that site while the WordPress admin and plugin pages clearly show the renewal status.

Until the license is renewed, access to new downloads, future versions, and support is no longer included. This gives you continuity for the live setup you already have while making the renewal path clear when you are ready for continued access.

Activate, replace, retry, or release a license from one place

Use the dedicated License page to activate a new license key, replace the current license, retry verification, and review the current state. If you need to release an activation seat, use the explicit Deactivate License action from that page.

Verification is designed to protect an active setup

Smart Related Products includes scheduled license verification and state-aware admin notices. If there is a temporary licensing API outage, the plugin relies on its protected local state: trusted paid runtime continues, and a trial continues only until its cached trusted expiry.

That behavior helps your active store experience remain grounded in a known license state while the plugin continues to guide you toward the appropriate recovery step.

What if there is no valid license state?

Without a valid licensing state, commercial storefront runtime is disabled. The administrator can still access the License page to activate a license and restore the normal Smart Related Products experience.

If you are seeing a notice or need help with a verification or activation issue, start with the License page, then follow the troubleshooting guide for focused recovery steps.
