Getting Started

Storefront settings overview

Configure the customer-facing experience in GoScript Price Drop Alerts WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce with confident storefront controls, messaging, and sign-in guidance.

Shape a price-watch experience that feels native to your store

GoScript Price Drop Alerts for WooCommerce gives you clear storefront controls for the moments customers see and use. From the watch button placement to the confirmation message and sign-in destination, the settings help you guide price-sensitive shoppers into an account-based experience that feels like part of your existing WooCommerce store.

Open Price Drop Alerts → Settings → Storefront to configure the core customer journey. Then use Button Style to make the control match the visual language of your theme.

Enable or pause Price Drop Alerts

The Enable Price-Drop Alerts setting controls whether the commercial customer-facing experience is active. When enabled with a valid active license, eligible product pages can show the watch control and the plugin can run the price-watch, email, attribution, and reporting workflow.

When you disable the setting, Price Drop Alerts pauses commercial runtime. The storefront control no longer accepts new watches, and background processing and delivery do not continue. On a compatible site, the My Account area remains available only as a fallback for customers to view or remove their existing watches.

Choose where the watch button appears

Use Show Watch Button to select the automatic placement that best supports your product-page layout. You can place the control before or after the WooCommerce purchase area, so it sits naturally beside the price, variations, quantity field, and add-to-cart action.

  • Before the purchase area: useful when you want price watching to be a prominent decision before shoppers reach the add-to-cart controls.
  • After the purchase area: useful when you want the watch option to follow the standard purchase action.
  • Manual placement: use this for a custom template, block layout, or a location that your theme does not expose through automatic placement.

Automatic placement supports classic WooCommerce product pages and WooCommerce block-based single-product templates. The manual-placement guide covers the dynamic block and shortcode when you need full layout control.

Set clear button and confirmation messages

The Storefront panel lets you define the wording customers see at the key moments of the journey:

  • Watch Button Text: the invitation shown before a customer has an active watch, such as Notify me if the price drops.
  • Active Watch Text: the reassurance shown when the signed-in customer is already watching that exact item.
  • Confirmation Message: the successful response after a watch is created, which can point customers toward My Account to fine-tune their target.

Keep the language simple and specific. Avoid promising an immediate email, guaranteed availability, or a reserved product. A price watch means the store will evaluate the exact item and send a one-time alert when the saved price target is reached and the item remains suitable to buy.

Choose the sign-in and return path

Price watches are account-based, so guests must sign in before they can create one. By default, the plugin uses the normal WordPress sign-in flow and preserves the product page as the return destination after login.

If your store uses a dedicated login or registration page, select it with Sign-in Page. The plugin adds return information to the guest journey so a successful login can bring the customer back to the product they wanted to watch.

  1. Select a published custom sign-in page only if your account flow supports a return destination.
  2. Open a product page as a guest and select the watch button.
  3. Complete the sign-in or registration path with a test account.
  4. Confirm the shopper returns to the original product and can create the watch.

Match the watch button to your design

In Button Style, you can use your theme button styling or choose a custom appearance. Configure the button presentation, background and text colours, hover colours, size, and corner roundness, then review the live preview before saving.

The presentation can use text only or pair an icon with text. Use the styling controls to make the price-watch action visible and recognisable without making it compete with the primary add-to-cart action.

Test the full storefront journey

After saving settings, test an eligible simple product and an exact variation as both a guest and a signed-in customer. Confirm placement, button text, active state, confirmation message, sign-in return, and My Account handoff all feel clear in your theme.

Use the email preview and a controlled price-drop test before promotion. That small end-to-end check gives you confidence that customers will understand the value of a watch from the first click through to a future alert.
