Make price watching look like it belongs on your product page
The Price Drop Alert button should be easy to notice without competing with your primary add-to-cart action. GoScript Price Drop Alerts for WooCommerce gives you two straightforward approaches: inherit the button styling your theme already uses, or configure a custom treatment that fits your product-page design.
Open Price Drop Alerts → Settings → Button Style to choose the presentation and preview the result before customers see it.
Use your theme button style
Enable Match Your Theme’s Button Style when you want the Price Drop Alert control to inherit the familiar button treatment used throughout your WooCommerce store. This is often the fastest route to a cohesive product page, especially when your theme already has accessible button colours, spacing, hover states, and responsive behavior.
Theme styling is a strong default when your goal is consistency. It lets the new customer action feel established from the first visit, rather than looking like a disconnected add-on.
- Choose theme styling for the simplest, most consistent setup.
- Review the control on light and dark product-page sections if your theme uses them.
- Check that the watch action remains distinguishable from Add to cart through its placement and label.
- Test both the normal label and the active-watch label while signed in.
Create a custom button style
Turn off theme matching when you need a custom visual treatment. The Button Style settings let you define the watch-button appearance without editing a template or writing custom CSS for the core control.
- Button Background Color: choose the resting background colour.
- Button Text Color: choose a readable label colour.
- Hover Background Color: choose the colour shown when a customer hovers the control.
- Hover Text Color: keep the hover label legible against its new background.
- Corner Roundness: set a radius that matches the visual shape of your existing buttons.
- Button Size: choose the supported size that fits the surrounding product layout.
Custom settings apply to the dynamically rendered customer control, whether you use automatic placement, the block, or the shortcode.
Choose button content and presentation
Use Button Content to decide whether the control displays text only or an icon alongside its text. The icon-and-text option adds a small downward price-watch visual cue while keeping the customer instruction readable.
Text remains essential. Customers should understand the action without relying on an icon alone, so use a clear label such as Notify me if the price drops or a concise store-specific variation that describes the benefit accurately.
Choose colours with contrast and hierarchy in mind
When you create a custom button, select combinations that are easy to read in both the resting and hover state. Button text should remain legible against the chosen background, and the control should be visible for keyboard and mouse users without relying only on subtle colour changes.
It is also worth preserving hierarchy. In most stores, Add to cart remains the primary action. The Price Drop Alert control can use a complementary colour, an outline-adjacent treatment in your theme, or a less dominant position after the purchase area while still remaining easy to find.
Check the active and guest states too
Styling is not only about the first button a shopper sees. Signed-in customers who already watch a simple product see your configured active-watch label, and the control is disabled to avoid duplicate active watches. Guests see the same invitation but follow the configured sign-in journey before they can create a watch.
Test the button in each state so the text, contrast, spacing, and visual feedback remain clear. For variable products, also test the message that guides a shopper to select all product options first.
Preview and test before publishing
- Choose theme or custom styling in Button Style.
- Review the live preview in the settings screen.
- Save the settings and visit a real eligible product in your theme.
- Check normal, hover, keyboard-focus, guest, and active-watch states.
- Review desktop and mobile product pages before promoting price watches.
A thoughtful final check keeps the watch button both noticeable and reassuring: customers understand that you are helping them return at a better price, not asking them to take an unclear action.
