A clear connection between an email and a purchase
When a Back in Stock notification is recorded as sent, GoScript Back in Stock WordPress Plugin for WooCommerce opens an attribution window for that customer and the exact product or variation in the email. A later qualifying purchase can then be reflected in your reports.
This approach helps you see the measurable outcome of restock communication while keeping the match specific to the customer and item involved.
What qualifies for attribution
For a purchase to be attributed, GoScript Back in Stock for WooCommerce checks that it meets the key conditions below:
- The order belongs to the same signed-in WooCommerce customer who received the notification.
- The order contains the same simple product or exact variation from the notification.
- The notification was sent before the order was created and paid.
- The order is paid and payment occurs within the notification's attribution window.
When more than one qualifying notification exists, the most recent matching notification is used.
How the attribution window works
Set the attribution window in Back in Stock → Settings → Restock rules. The available range is 1 to 90 days, with 7 days as the default.
The window is set when a notification is sent. Changing the setting later affects future notifications, while existing notification windows keep the timing they started with.
How notification conversion is calculated
A notification counts as converted when it has at least one active attributed purchase. Email conversion is the percentage of sent Back in Stock notification emails that have converted.
This means conversion is tied to individual notification emails, while purchase counts and revenue show the attributed results that follow. It gives you a useful view of how notification activity is contributing to customer action.
How order changes and refunds are handled
Reports are reconciled when relevant order details change. If an attributed item is refunded, removed, or no longer qualifies, the affected purchase and net revenue can update to reflect the order's current state.
