I have imported up to 1000 movies/day and had no problems. Also I had customers importing way more and they didn’t got blocked.

In short, you can import as many you want but I would recommend you to schedule them like max 50 movies/day so SE bots will not have to index thousands of pages from start, but gradually.

Hi goscript,

I bought your movie automator a while back and I’m now just getting ready to use it.

I have a few questions:

1) How many films can we add to our blog per day? Can I add hundreds? thousands?

2) If I add that many, will IMDB block my IP?

3) Do you have a recommended number of films you add per day maximum?

@nuriska: You can use it on as many blogs you own.
If you want to sell a blog using Movie Automator, you must specify the new owner that he must buy a license in order to use the script, or you can buy one for him, which works best.

Hi Dave,
Yes it’s still working. They did some changes to movie links but the page structure it’s still the same, so no problems.

Installation information from the info file provided:

Upload the folder ‘movieautomator’ to your blog root folder.

You do not have to upload it to your wp-plugins folder but to blog.com/movieautomator

I uploaded the plugin via wordpress and when I select install now it says “this plugin has an invalid header”. It doesn’t show up on the plugins list. What is the problem?

@Scott: You can go to http://www.imdb.com/Sections/Genres/ and browse the movies by genres.
From there you can select and copy all links at once.
If you use firefox you may find this addon in handy https://addons.mozilla.org/ro/firefox/addon/7978

The script looks great, but what is the most efficient (automated) way to load many thousand movies without having to find a movie on imdb and then copy and paste the url in your script?
