If the post has multiple pages is there away to get the posts on the additional pages as well. If not could this feature be added.

You could import every page one by one. I will add the option for multiple pages soon. Update will be provided for free.

i purchased this script but it takes fopen url - my server has this disabled. I would apreciate if you could atleast put up requirements before we waste money on a script that is now pretty much worthless.

can you not set this up to use curl, since you have it completely encryted i can’t do anything about or give me a refund

@Charles: 99% of the hosts have fopen enabled by default. Actually you are the only one I hear with this problem. Can’t you contact your host and ask them to enable it?
Anyway, I’ll have a Curl version done too in 2-3 days max. Please contact me after to receive this version.

thank you goscript - im afraid i have mediatemple as my host - they will not turn it back on sometime around jan 07 they turned it off and will not reenable it so i am limited on many things but love this script and want to use it for my site so thanks for the curl version

Regarding the title, this is because you are using microsoft word smart quotes instead of usual quotes.

As for the comments, you must be logged in to your wp-admin area before accessing it. This is why you get this error. Always login before accessing forum2blog area.

Step1 Option B : Instead of entering a FORUM URL, I can choose to specify multiple URLS and it will import them into my blog.

I was looking for something like this, but I also saw your discussion on http://goscript.net that it uses fopen function of PHP. but my host has disabled the same due to hacking vulnerabilities….they have asked me to go for a program which uses curl function instead. can you provide me such program?

So posts and responses in Vbulletin are not linked to users, but randomly assigned a fake name? What if the Worpress site has already imported the members, could the import script match the user names for topic and response posts?

1. I’d say it’s right between the two, as it’s a WP plugin but you don’t have to copy it in the plugins folder.
2. Yes, Forum2Blog it’s not using rss feeds to read the posts.

Forum2Blog can import posts from any forum powered by vBulletin. (it can import from DP as it is powered by vBulletin)

Is it possible with the program to auto up date a VB subject title? Meaning any person that posts under a subject VB titles will be automatically posted on your blog? Would that not be easier?

A VB Sports board has a category called “football”

@Paul: You can import them as scheduled or you can edit the post after and mark it as drat so you can make the desired changes.

hey there, some of the posts i pull from forums just have a title and nothing else comes with it, like the actual post or the comments, could you take a look at my website and see what i mean, am i doing something wrong or does the script work better with a certain version of vbulletin??? i have only been able to get one forum post to import the comments but the rest just pull the title and not article thanks heaps besides that problem im loving all the scripts i brought. thanks heaps

Are you planning to release a newer version of this plugin. This plugin is awesome and I have been using it on one of my websites for quite sometime.

But there is one very important feature missing. When I import the post from a forum, it is directly posted. But there might be some unwanted smileys or comments which we might like to edit out. Or we might like to add some unique content in the first post for SEO purposes. So, is it possible to add an edit feature so that we can check and edit the post if needed before publishing.

You can let the comments be as it is but only for the main post/first post you can enable the edit feature before posting. This will make it even a more awesome plugin.

One more thing that some others might not know is that this plugin can import single posts too instead of the whole thread. Just enter the direct link to the post and it will import. I do so mostly and the edit feature would especially be great for such a case as there is only a single post then and then if we edit and modify the post before final posting then it would be really good for SEO purpose too as it would be completely unique content then.

Please enable this ability to edit the post before final posting in the next version of this plugin.

Yes I can implement the edit feature by adding an option to add the post in wordpress as a draft so you can publish it after you make the changes.

We just purchased this and yes we have curl and fopen() active on our server, how ever when selecting a post, its not importing the information… it only imports a few words

Ok i discovered the problem if a post has ’ instead of ‘ it cuts the post off after the ’ how can we fix this I need this asap… I would edit the code myself to get it to work but its all encoded

I like the sound of this plugin, the only thing which is stopping me buying it is I see from some of the comments that curl needs to be enabled my host (hostgator) how would I find this out and how I would enable it if it wasn’t!
